Level 3 Diploma in Make-Up Artistry (RQF)

Qualification Overview

The Level 3 Diploma in Make-Up Artistry (RQF) is aimed at those learners looking to progress into a career as a professional make-up artist.The Level 3 Diploma in Make-Up Artistry (RQF) will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to successfully achieve the qualification. The qualification includes applying small, ready-made prosthetic pieces, camouflage make-up, airbrush make-up, and styling and fitting head and facial postiche (wigs and hairpieces).

Qualification Structure

A learner must have previously completed a level 2 qualification in beauty therapy.

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Fashion and Photographic Make-up

The qualification will also prepare for employment as a make-up artist

Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF)

Qualification Overview

The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF) is aimed at those learners who have completed the level 2 qualification. The purpose of this qualification builds on the existing knowledge and understanding gained from the level 2 qualification, therefore enables learners to expand the scope of their technical skills for employment as a beauty therapist. They will learn how to plan prepare and deliver level 3 beauty treatments safely and correctly in accordance with health and safety regulations and legislation.

Qualification Structure

Learners must achieve 3 mandatory units totalling 17 credits. A minimum of 22 credits must be achieved from the remaining optional units to create a total credit value for this qualification of 39 credits.

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • Level 4 Certificate in Salon Management (RQF)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management (RQF)
  • Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation (RQF)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy (RQF)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation (RQF)
  • Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal (RQF)
  • Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF)

Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology (RQF)

Qualification Overview

The Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology (RQF) is aimed at those learners wishing to develop their knowledge, understanding and practical skills in providing manicure and pedicure treatments and applying and maintaining nail enhancements.

Qualification Structure

Learners must achieve the 6 mandatory units totalling 39 credits. A minimum of 12 credits must be achieved from the remaining optional units to create a total credit value for this qualification of 51 credits.

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies (RQF)
  • Level 2 Award in Foot care (RQF)
  • Level 2 Award in Nail Art (RQF)
  • Level 2 Award in Airbrush Nail Design (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Nail Enhancements and Advanced Hand and Nail Art Techniques (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Nail Art (RQF)
