How long has Claire worked for Smart Training?
Claire has worked for Smart Training for 2 years recently returning in May 2017 after a 19-month break to support her family in the sale of the family business.
What are Claire's specialisms?
Claire’s field of specialism is Professional cookery having spent 15 years in the hospitality sector. She has managed a kitchen and assisted in running a family pub. During Claire’s time training as a professional chef she completed work based learning completing levels 2 and 3 in professional cookery; this gave her an opportunity to learn theory as well as completing practical work as part of her role in a professional Kitchen. Claire then went on to complete a level 3 in management which gave her a good understanding of managing the business side and prepared her to understand other elements outside of the kitchen.
Claire holds her level 2 and 3 for professional cookery, Level 3 in management; Functional skills level 2 in English Maths and ICT.
Claire's previous work experience
Claire started off working as a waitress many years ago, working her way through from kitchen porter in the kitchen to sous chef and eventually working as Head chef. She gained extensive knowledge by completing training through work based learning. Claire has also completed training with chefs that have come to work in her kitchen offering them support with knowledge and teaching and learning.

Claire enjoys socializing with family and friends, Claire also has a love for travel and experiencing new cultures and lifestyles. Claire’s other passion is caring for animals.
