How long has Deana worked for Smart Training?
I have worked for Smart Training for just over 3 months. Although I am still in my probationary period, I am enjoying my working role as a Training Advisor and looking forward to supporting growth within Health and Social Care.
What are Deana's specialisms?
I have worked in health and social care for over 28years. I specialise within areas of Dementia, learning difficulties/disabilities, challenging behaviour, the aging process, health and clinical and drugs/alcohol.
Deana's previous work experience
I have worked in various roles from Care Assistant to managerial roles. I have also supported training by becoming a moving and handling and also Safeguarding Trainer. I have worked as part of a team or individually in the community. I do not have a favourite speciality and have enjoyed supporting many individuals through the years. I became interested within health and social care at a very young age. I can recall supporting the district nurses with wound care back when I was roughly 11 years old. I have worked within clinical environments where I have monitored the health and wellbeing of individuals and completed clinical tasks of wound care, observations, supporting end of life. My experience covers supporting individuals within the community and within residential, nursing homes.
Deana's hobbies & interests
I like to read various subjects, particularly around medical history and current practices. I am currently working through a diploma in counselling for pet bereavement and learning more about mental well-being. I have a keen interest in animal care. Having 2 dogs, a tarantula and 5 snakes, I do spend quite a lot of time researching behaviours. I like 4×4’s and off-roading, in particular how to handle vehicles in various conditions.
