Job Description:

In this role you will learn how to:
 
  • Work alongside and take direction from the head chefs
  • Produce dishes with fresh ingredients from scratch
  • Prepare Puddings
  • Prepare Vegetables
  • Kitchen Operations and Governance (Taking temperature checks)
  • Ensure useful use of stock and resources
  • Storing food in a safe and hygienic manner
  • Cleaning with and storing chemicals correctly
  • Understanding how to work in a team

Skills and Requirements:

Desired Skills

  • An eye for detail and a hygienic manner is required in this role
  • Good team player and be able to utilise quiet times with forward thinking

Required Qualifications

English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent 2/3 or D and above. Note you will work towards a higher grade if required

Future Prospects

On completion of a successful apprenticeship a role will be likely as long as the business can accommodate

Training to be delivered

  • Production Chef Level 2
  • Functional skills if required

All aspects of running a kitchen in a safe manner. Ensuring all meals produced are of a high standard. Knowledge of nutrition and food contamination.
