Job Description:

Responsible for:

  • Safe custody of medical records and other confidential information


  • Photocopying/faxing/typing/scanning/filing
  • Sending/receiving letters and post
  • Ensure the reception area is neat and tidy
  • Dealing with prescriptions in accordance with company¬†guidelines
  • Dealing with specimen bottles in accordance with company guidelines
  • Dealing with information in accordance with company guidelines
  • Dealing with appointments in accordance with company guidelines
  • Operate the phones and other equipment in accordance with company guidelines
  • Follow up on tasks
  • Attend staff meetings

Skills and Requirements:

Desired Skills

  • Basic understanding of office equipment such as photocopier and fax, training will be provided
  • Computer literate
  • Very good listening skills

Required Qualifications

You must have GCSE A-C in English, or equivalent, or better.

Future Prospects

The practice has an intention to offer the right candidate a long-term contract at the end of the apprenticeship period depending on their performance and ability.

Training to be delivered

  • Full induction and ongoing training and mentoring
  • Business and Administration Apprenticeship Framework level 2
  • Smart Training & Recruitment to deliver apprenticeship, to include Functional Skills if required
