Read his full story below:

“When I first signed up for the Apprenticeship, I was 35 and hadn’t done any kind of learning or studying for around 15 years. If I’m honest, I was very nervous. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to balance work with studying or even if I’d be able to get back into learning after so long. Looking back now, taking that chance was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

The Apprenticeship has taught me so much already, not just through the coursework but by helping me apply what I’ve learnt every day at work. I’ve seen a real improvement in the quality of my work and in the confidence, I have when taking on new challenges. One of the biggest changes is how I think about things now. Instead of just following the way things have always been done, I’m coming up with new ideas to improve the processes and programmes we use. It’s been great to see some of those ideas making a real difference, and it’s given me the confidence to speak up and share them.

More than anything, this Apprenticeship has shown me that you’re never too old to learn something new. If someone had told me a couple of years ago that I’d be back studying at 35, I probably wouldn’t have believed them. Now I can honestly say it’s opened doors for me, both professionally and personally, and it’s made me excited about where my career could go next.”
