From 1st August 2023 young people aged 16-18, (or 19-24 and in receipt of an EHCP), who are not yet ready to progress onto an apprenticeship, paid employment or onto a further education programme of study, will be able to apply for a position with Smart Training and Recruitment under our new Smart Futures Programme.
The development of English and Mathematics functional skills is key to all learning!
As part of the government’s ‘Study Programmes’, we are supporting young people with the achievement of their Maths and English Functional Skills, up to Level 2 (GCSE equivalent), as well as their Employability Skills.
The new programme differs from what some may have known previously as a ‘Traineeship Programme’. We are proud to have developed a new programme of learning which will focus on developing functional and transferable skills, better aligned with the workplace skills needs. We are working with selected employment and work placement partners. Where possible, we are encouraging learners to engage in real work placement experience, carrying out a wide range of tasks to support the development of their employability skills.
