Lead Adult Care Workers: Supervising, Leading, Guiding, and Exercising Judgement Autonomously

Key Facts:

  • Qualification: Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3
  • Duration: 12 months (minimum) + 3 months EPA
  • Off-the-job training: 6 hours per week (minimum)
  • NCFE CACHE L3: Diploma in Adult Care
  • Functional skills: English and maths Level 2
  • Progression: Lead Practitioner in Adult Care Level 4

Apprenticeship Overview:

This Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is for people leading frontline care for vulnerable adults within their own homes, daycare centres, residential and nursing homes, and other healthcare settings. A Lead Adult Care Worker will make a positive difference in someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, or intellectual challenges. They will be expected to exercise judgment and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity, and control.

Once this Apprenticeship is complete, employees may progress onto the following:

Lead Practitioner in Adult Care
Level 4 Leader in Adult Care Level 5
