How do I apply?
Contact us in the first instance via askus@smarttar.co.uk and let us know what course you are interested in. We will give you all the information, advice and guidance you need to make a decision that is right for you. If you decide to proceed, prior to enrolment, we will confirm the course details you need in order to complete your application with the Student Loans Company (SLC).
You then apply online at https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.
The SLC will process your application and will write to you confirming the outcome of your application. If successful, the SLC will pay the loan directly to us
Your training course itinerary and timeframe, including enrolment date will then be confirmed to you.
You begin to repay the loan through the tax system when you complete or withdraw from the course and earn more than the repayment threshold, you’ll only repay when your income is over £480 a week, £2,083 a month or £25,000 a year.
You can access up to 4 loans in a lifetime, either one after the other or at the same time.
To consider your financial options further, you may refer to the Money Advice Service which can provide free and impartial money advice. Contact us in the first instance so we can walk you through the entire process and make sure you understand your options!
