Our range includes apprenticeships such as Lean Manufacturing Operative, Improvement Technician, and Improvement Practitioner, each offering in-depth training for specific areas within manufacturing.

What are Manufacturing Apprenticeships?

Manufacturing Apprenticeships are structured training programmes that help learners develop the skills and behaviours required to carry out their work safely and meet the exact quality standards demanded in a fast-paced environment. Apprentices will learn various skills, from health & safety to quality control, production, problem-solving, and more, tailored to their chosen programme.

Our Manufacturing Apprenticeships include:

  • Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2: Designed for those working in fast-paced processing environments, this apprenticeship teaches apprentices how to carry out their work safely and meet quality standards. Apprentices will develop into multi-skilled operators capable of handling manufacturing activities on multiple products with different specifications.
  • Improvement Technician Level 3: This programme provides apprentices with a solid understanding of Lean methodologies to improve organisational processes and procedures. Apprentices will learn to support managers and practitioners by implementing projects, reducing waste, and improving productivity.
  • Improvement Practitioner Level 4: This apprenticeship focuses on developing the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to lead organisational change. Apprentices will learn to identify and deliver change across functions, manage projects, and implement sustainable countermeasures.

Manufacturing Apprenticeship Learner Journey

Our specialist tutors provide comprehensive support throughout the 12-18 months (course dependant) of on-programme learning and End Point Assessment. This includes monthly virtual classroom lessons and workshops, workplace training, shadowing, mentoring, and online one-to-one support. Additionally, we offer support for functional skills in English and Mathematics to ensure apprentices are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment and confident in their skills.

Career progression after completing a Manufacturing Apprenticeship

After finishing a Manufacturing Apprenticeship, individuals can advance to more advanced positions within their organisations or pursue additional qualifications. For instance, apprentices who complete the Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 will attain their OAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing. This can open up career opportunities such as Engineering Technician or Team Leader. Depending on employer needs, apprentices may also advance to higher-level apprenticeships in areas such as Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Leadership.
